Antardwand Shall Be The Pick of The Week! Another well made reality based movie destined not to work commercially! Antardwand is a movie that caters only to a niche section of audiences just like any other issue based fanfare, and whoever shall watch it, is sure to heaps praises. From the box-office point of view, the movie may not start like a hurricane given the lull period (Ramzaan month) is on in full swing. It is sure to have a mixed verdict.

Antardwand Shall Be The Pick of The Week!

Think of the movies made on the subject line dealing with the menace of dowry and many would crop up.

How about a movie on groom abduction? Novel theme, right folks!

First let us tell you what groom abduction all about is. Groom abduction is an age old menace in the lawless land of backward areas of Bihar state. According to this practice, parents of different girls keep an aye on youths (male) who are earning well and holding posts of repute.

Once they see that their income has become a good source of luxury, they kidnap and make them vulnerable to different circumstances and lastly forces to marry their daughters.

If they fail to do so, they have to face the wrath of their kidnappers either in the form of deaths or temporary genital disablement!

Though the practice has become a less practiced one now due to the improving condition of law and order in Bihar, still one or two such curious cases keeps looming once in a while.

Cut to the movie Antardwand, it also deals with the same real subject. The movie not only spells out the reason for the happening of such cases but also suggest some real time ventures to sort out the grueling issue.

Of late, Cinema lovers all around are vying to accept stories that are untold and hold similarities with our lives at point or other.

If you crave for cinema that is hard hitting and provoking enough, Antardwand shall be your pick.

Final word? 2010 has seen many issue based cinema coming out like Peepli (Live), The Red Alert, etc and being loved critically and commercially. Antardwand is another you can add to this elite list of captivating gems. Antardwand shall be the pick of the week for you over the weekend.

Let’s track the basic story of this flick in the imminent words of none other than Taran Adarsh, the bollywood specialist.

Raghuveer (Raj Singh Chaudhary), who has just appeared for his Civil Services exams, is admonished by his father (Vinay Pathak) against marrying his pregnant girlfriend in Delhi. Distraught and defenseless, Raghu terminates his visit home in the interiors of Bihar and leaves for Delhi.

But before he could get out of the village, he is abducted by another headstrong and ambitious father (Akhilendra Mishra) of a girl (Swati Sen) wanting to have a potential IAS officer as his son-in-law.

The boy is forcibly married off at gun point, much against his and the girl' s own wishes. Once married, they are locked up in a room for several days till they consummate their marriage and accept each other completely. But do they accept each other in the face of inevitability?

Talking of the performances on and off the scene, Sushil Rajpal steps in as a fine story teller who covers the burning issue like never before. The twists and turns keeps you glued to the screen though, the second half is a bit slow.

The movie has niche performances from all the leads. Raj Singh Chaudhary is natural and delivers a solid performance. Swati Sen is awesome. Akhilendra Mishra as usual does justice to his role and is dynamic throughout. Vinay Pathak looks calm and restrained.

Overall, Antardwand has a hitherto an untold story so far on the screen, which it does in most commanding passion.
